In our latest employee survey, ‘appreciation’ was the most frequently cited factor describing our working atmosphere. Although the institute is autonomous, its employees are members of the University of St.Gallen and benefit from a stable environment and all the advantages that this brings. KMU-HSG employees have access to sports facilities at the HSG, the HSG mensa and the HSG library. And with an HSG IT account, you can log into the Wi-Fi network at almost any university in the world.

As a university institute, we have many international connections to the academic community in our fields of research, which means we are linked to researchers around the world who, like us, are interested in SMEs, family businesses and entrepreneurship. We combine this international outlook with a strong regional focus and the aim of creating a family-like working environment in which everyone at the institute is committed to the goals of our work. Participation in national and international scientific conferences or events for practitioners, such as the SME Day (Schweizer KMU-Tag) we organise, provides an excellent platform for this.
